DiVAS is a friends server first and last. What does that mean?
Well, firstly trash talking is not acceptable but banter is. There can sometimes be a fine line between the two, so always err on the side of caution. Insults are not acceptable on the server from DiVAs members and in most cases, with people on the server too. When on DiVAs servers, always try to be welcoming to people. "Hi's" and "welcomes" are always a good idea to make people feel at home on the server. Joining in chat and conversations also is friendly and emphasises the DiVAs way. Of course this isn't mandatory but it does go a long way in improving the gaming pleasure for everyone on the server. If you do see anyone making a tool of themselves, politely tell them not to do it. If they carry on, warn them that they will be kicked from the server. 9/10, the person will shut up. If he doesn't kick him off. If he comes back on and gives grief or carries on in his behaviour, give him a temp ban and report it on the forum. If you come across people who don't follow the objectives (as in not planting/defusing). let them know that they must try to plant or defuse. If they are unwilling to point them in the way of a TDM server (a DiVAS one if we have one) and then kick them from the server if they Don't leave and continue playing in a TDM fashion (again, a couple of warnings is always better than a kick with no explanation). If you come across people recruiting, tell them immediately to stop. They will either say sorry or they hit a key bind. Personally, I don't believe either as anyone and everyone knows not to go onto another clans server and recruit. Still, benefit of a doubt is a good thing. If they do it again, kick them off immediately with as much venom as you can muster. Regulars sometimes may want to scrim and ask other regulars to scrim with them. Don't think of this as recruitment but as a bonus for the server. These people may create a clan in the long run but telling people not to exchange xfires is counter productive to the enjoyment on the server. You just create conflict with regulars. remember their is a difference between recruitment and a natural progression of people towards forming a 'match' clan. well that just about covers it all. At the end of the day, you wouldn't be in DiVAS if you came across as an idiot (pessy and arty are the exceptions). So be friendly and have fun on the server |
